The Lancer Group places Tanner Cerand as Vice President of Investment Research at BuildGroup, a tech-focused holding company investing in middle-market software businesses
AUSTIN, TX – The Lancer Group places Tanner Cerand as Vice President of Investment Research of BuildGroup, an Austin-based softwareholding company that selectively invests in leadership teams with staying power.
Tanner brings to BuildGroup over 15 years of experience driving market research and business development across the investment banking, private equity, and professional services space. In this new role, Tanner will serve as the firm’s research and deal sourcing expert and will be responsible for developing a new systematic approach to investing in enterprise software.
Most recently, Tanner served as Director of Business Development at Vista Equity, a leading private equityfirm that focuses on investing in softwareand tech-enabled businesses, where he was responsible for identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities. Prior to Vista Equity, Tanner held several roles of increasing responsibility at Gerson Lehrman Group and UBS Investment Bank.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
