L Capital, The Lancer Group’s private equity affiliate, announces the first closing of its inaugural fund: L Capital I LP; new fund focused on co-investments in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector

SAN FRANCISCO & SAN DIEGO, CA – L Capital LLC announces the first closing of its inaugural private equity fund L Capital I LP effective December 21 2016. L Capital is the private equity investment affiliate of The Lancer Group, a leading global retained executive search firm that partners with private equity firms, their portfolio companies, and public corporations to deliver high-impact leaders.

L Capital is a specialty private equity firm focused on investments in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector. L Capital makes equity co-investments alongside leading buyout and growth equity funds. In addition to focusing on equity investments, L Capital further expands The Lancer Group’s private equity capabilities by providing value- added advisory services to private equity partners including diligence support, deal origination, and executive search.

L Capital I LP is the only dedicated private equity fund affiliated with an executive search firm in the technology sector. The capital commitments for L Capital I include the principals of The Lancer Group as well as external investors including successful executives, other high net-worth individuals and family offices and institutions. Capital commitments to date range from $250,000 to $2M.

The new fund fund’s investments will add to L Capital’s track record of eight previous fee standing investments in leading companies such as Magento, Informatica, Genesys, PowerPlan, Rogue Wave Sotware, Solera, ExLibris, and Qualys.
