The Lancer Group places Shane Jones as CFO of Backcountry, the largest online specialty retailer of premium outdoor gear. Backcountry is backed by leading consumer-focused private equity firm, TSG Consumer Partners

PARK CITY, UT – Backcountry, leading online specialty retailer of premium outdoor gearhires Shane Jones as the company’s Chief Financial Officer.

In this new role, Shane will work closely with the executive team and will be responsible for driving growth and ensuring the integrity of Backcountry’s operations across the company’s 6 brands through effective financial reporting, strategic planning, tax planning, and regulatory compliance.

Shane brings to Backcountry over 20 years of financial leadership with world-class companies across a diverse range of industries including e-Commerce, multi-unit retail, distribution and private equity. He was most recently Senior Vice President of Finance at Nexeo Solutions, a $5B portfolio company of TPG Capital where he drove substantial improvements in analytics, processes, controls, and business insights across all aspects of the business, leading to record profits.

Prior to Nexeo Solutions, Shane led worldwide FP&A for Amazon.com (NasdaqGS:AMZN; LTM Rev: $100.5B) where he provided leadership and strategic direction to facilitate rapid revenue growth, diverse growth in product lines, significant geographic expansion, multiple acquisitions and development of new business.

He holds an MBA from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.
